I got into dentistry for a variety of different reasons. I enjoy the science of it. I enjoy working with people.
I enjoy the beauty that you can create. It gives you a little bit of everything. You get to own your own business and take care of people and make them happy.
It’s wonderful. I started my education at Kalamazoo College. I went on to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
I was fortunate to have a father in the business and he became a great mentor to me. I joined his practice. I learned probably more from him than I did in dental school.
That’s why I’m here today. He retired about 10 years ago and I’ve been in the practice since 2001. The most rewarding aspect of dentistry is when you can put a smile on somebody’s face as they walk out the door.
You know that you’ve provided good service to them. They’re happy. They’re confident.
They have a functional set of teeth and they’re ready for the world. Patients should come to Gusfa Dental Care because of our family atmosphere. Everything that we do here revolves around family and taking care of each other as a team and taking care of our patients.
That’s the atmosphere that we want to have here and it’s wonderful as well.
Dr. Steven Gusfa Cares About His Patients & Community
Dr. Steven Gusfa brings over two decades of dedicated experience, community leadership, and clinical excellence to his work at Gusfa Dental Clinic. A proud graduate of Kalamazoo College, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997 before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Michigan in 2001. Since opening his private practice in 2002, Dr. Gusfa has remained committed to providing personalized, patient-centered care to families across the region.
Beyond his practice, Dr. Gusfa is deeply engaged in the dental community and has held numerous leadership roles throughout his career. He has been a longstanding member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the Detroit District Dental Society’s Southwestern Branch. His service includes time as president of both the Southwestern Branch and the Detroit District Dental Society, as well as multiple terms in the MDA House of Delegates.
Dr. Gusfa’s commitment to advancing his profession has been recognized with several accolades, including the Detroit District Dental Society’s New Dentist of the Year award in 2005 and the Michigan Dental Association’s New Dentist Leadership Award in 2011. He is also an honored inductee of both the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists.
Passionate about giving back, Dr. Gusfa is regularly donates his dental services and has contributed to Christina’s Smile in order to provide dental care to underserved populations.
Whether leading on a state level or serving patients chairside, Dr. Gusfa remains driven by a single purpose: to make dental care more compassionate, more accessible, and more impactful for every individual he treats.
